With online platforms showcasing a variety of trends, how did you decide on your signature style amidst the ever changing trends?
Deciding on my signature style amidst the ever-changing trends in the design industry has been a journey of self-discovery, experimentation, and reflection. While online platforms showcasing a variety of trends can be inspiring, I’ve learned to navigate them while staying true to my own design ethos.
I began by exploring different design styles, experimenting with various techniques, materials, and aesthetics. Through this process of self-exploration, I discovered what resonated with me on a personal and creative level. I identified core principles and values that define my approach to design. They include a focus on functionality, user-centricity, sustainability, and timeless elegance.

A Sneak Peek Into The Projects Done By Kaleidus WorkPlace Solutions
Could you share the story of a project which has truly challenged you go beyond your conventional style of design?
One project that challenged me to go beyond my conventional style of design was a renovation project. It was in an old building that was being repurposed into a modern co-working space by Kaleidus WorkPlace Solutions. Maintaining a balance between aesthetics and functionality was paramount in this project. I had to carefully select materials, finishes, and furniture that complemented the building’s historic character while also meeting the practical needs of a modern workspace. The client emphasized the importance of creating collaborative spaces that fostered interaction and creativity among co-workers. This required me to rethink traditional office layouts and incorporate innovative design features such as flexible workstations, communal areas, and informal meeting spaces that encouraged collaboration and teamwork.
With the technological advancements, which is the one tool you feel is a blessing to deal with design challenges?
One tool that I believe is a blessing for dealing with design challenges in the era of technological advancements is virtual reality (VR) technology. VR has revolutionized the way designers conceptualize, visualize, and interact with their designs, offering a host of benefits for addressing design challenges.
With VR, designers can make real-time modifications to their designs and instantly visualize the changes within the virtual environment. This facilitates a more iterative design process. A platform where designers can quickly test different design options, evaluate their impact, and refine the design accordingly.
By using VR for design visualization and validation, designers can reduce the need for physical prototypes, mock-ups, or site visits. Thereby, resulting in cost and time savings. VR technology also enables designers to streamline the design review process, leading to faster project approvals and shorter project timelines. As VR technology continues to evolve, its impact on the design industry will only grow. It will empower designers to create better, more innovative, and more impactful designs.
What role do you think a well designed interior space has on the users mood and workability and how do you achieve it in your designs?
A thoughtfully designed interior space has the power to evoke positive emotions and enhance the mood of its occupants. Elements such as natural light, colors, textures, and spatial layout can impact mood by creating a sense of comfort, tranquility, and inspiration. For example, incorporating biophilic elements such as indoor plants or natural materials. They can evoke feelings of connection to nature and promote a sense of well-being. A well-designed interior space can however, facilitate collaboration, creativity, and innovation among its users.
Incorporating communal areas, breakout spaces, and flexible meeting rooms encourages spontaneous interactions, idea sharing, and brainstorming sessions. Thoughtful design choices such as movable furniture, writable surfaces, and inspiring artwork can stimulate creativity. It can foster a sense of community within the workspace.
In my designs, I strive to achieve these objectives by following a user-centric approach that prioritizes the needs, preferences, and experiences of the occupants. I begin by gaining a deep understanding of the users’ goals. It also includes work patterns, and lifestyle preferences with thorough research and client consultation.
Considering the wide range of materials available today, how do you choose the right material palette which aligns with your design language and the client aspirations?
Choosing the right material palette is a crucial aspect of the design process. As it plays a significant role in shaping the aesthetic appeal, functionality, and overall ambiance of a space. I begin by engaging in extensive discussions with my clients to understand their vision, preferences, and aspirations for the project. I encourage open communication and collaboration. This is to ensure that the material palette reflects the client’s personal style, brand identity, and desired ambiance for the space.
I conduct extensive research and exploration to identify a wide range of materials that align with the design concept and client aspirations. This involves studying material properties, finishes, textures, colors, sustainability credentials, and budget considerations to narrow down the options. I incorporate sustainable and eco-friendly materials into the palette whenever possible, aligning with my commitment to responsible design practices. By following these principles and approaches, I can curate a material palette. One that not only aligns with my design language and the aspirations of my clients but also enhances the overall aesthetic, functionality, and sustainability of the space.
Beyond Design!
Apart from designing, which are other hobbies that inspire you to keep going?
Outside of designing, I find inspiration and motivation in various hobbies, including traveling, art and photography, reading, outdoor activities, cooking, and music and performing arts. These pursuits allow me to explore new cultures, environments, and perspectives, stimulating my creativity and enriching my design practice. Whether it’s immersing myself in nature, capturing moments through photography, experimenting with new recipes, or attending cultural events. Each hobby however, provides me with opportunities for personal growth, relaxation, and self-expression. By embracing diverse interests and passions, I cultivate a well-rounded lifestyle that enhances my creativity. It also fuels my inspiration, and ultimately enriches the design process.
Which aspect of interior designing brings you the sense of fulfilment?
The aspect of interior designing that brings me the greatest sense of fulfillment is the opportunity to positively impact people’s lives through thoughtful and meaningful design solutions. Knowing that my designs have the power to enhance the well-being, productivity, and overall quality of life for the occupants of a space fills me with a profound sense of purpose and satisfaction. Whether it’s creating a peaceful sanctuary where someone can unwind after a long day, designing an inspiring workspace that fosters creativity and collaboration, or transforming a community space that brings people together. The ability to create environments that resonate with people on a deep emotional level is incredibly fulfilling.
Looking ahead in the future, what are some of the commitments to yourself to help you grow as an individual?
Looking ahead, I am committed to several personal growth initiatives that will help me evolve as an individual. This includes prioritizing continuous learning through formal education, online courses, and self-directed study to stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in interior design. I will also prioritize self-reflection and challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone. This includes embracing feedback and cultivating a growth mindset.
Maintaining a healthy work-life balance and prioritizing self-care through mindfulness, physical activity, and hobbies will be essential for sustaining long-term success and well-being. Additionally, I am dedicated to giving back to my community through volunteer work, mentorship, and pro bono design projects. While also actively promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of my life and work. In summary, by committing to these initiatives, I am confident that I will continue to grow personally and professionally. This will deepen my impact in the world, and contribute meaningfully to the well-being of others.

I I also want to encourage them to dream big, overcome obstacles, and strive for excellence in their endeavors. Whether through mentorship, advocacy, or philanthropy, I aim to create opportunities for others to thrive. I also aim to contribute to a more just, compassionate, and sustainable society.
