Relaxed and intimate: A gourmet kitchen among lush greens | Navya Naidu Design & Beavers Desk

As the name suggests “White mango Gourmet Kitchen”, the site had beautiful mango trees which we took inspiration from. The aesthetic and vibe of the whole space is exactly that – white – mango (yellow). Space planning was clear since the start. An indoor area that accommodates the kitchen, utilities, toilets and indoor dining.

This then opens into a semi open pergola overlooking beautiful landscape and outdoor dining spaces. The indoor area was however not as well lit, and so huge punctures were made in the walls to which fixed glass was added.

This lets all the warmth and natural light in. The site was also planned to contain a small water pond with fountains to add to the serenity. The contours of the site were used as landscape elements.

A favorite has to be the – pergola. The structure is simple and white. While the locally procured terracotta adds just the right amount of warmth to the palette. Go local, go simple, it gives the best results!
